NEW MID-WEEK FEATURE ON FOOD SITE OF THE DAY

LARGO, Fla.  (March 19, 2008) -- A new feature on Food Site of the Day (FSOD) is “MENU GAZING.” Each mid-week, the website highlights fine dining menus from Singapore to the UK, quaint New England to far-off  Zanzibar and points beyond. Sites with interesting history, customs or origins usually run toward the start of the week. Recipe sites usually run on Fridays for weekend kitchen types. All sites featured must contain some element of food/cooking education and not be mere hype. Featured websites are usually schedule three months in advance. Each one receives a clip-graphic award, "As Seen on Food Site of the Day."

In August Food Site of the Day will commence its 8th year and is holder of the 2006 website Cordon d'Or Crystal Globe. Offering new content weekly, it now offers a collection of close to 2,000 searchable, previously-featured food sites, now broken by year.

Owner, Marty Martindale,  is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and writes of her food travels in the site’s FoodTracks. She joins guest columnists, Nikki Rose, Cooking in Crete, Gary Allen, upper New York State diner and raconteur and others.  In her food book reviews, Martindale looks for ususual combinations of foods and brief recipes for busy diners.

“The history of a land lives on in its foods ..”  The website’s mission statement is:  “From hunters and gatherers to gourmet e-commerce, we are all on a wonderful journey as we learn and taste new food combinations.” At FSOD, fusion is exciting!
